C’est dans un studio d’illustration que Philippe Hooghe, dit Philhoo, apprend le métier. Par la suite, il travaille en merchandising pour Disneyland Paris et pour le studio Disney Feature Animation en tant qu’assistant-animateur.

Philhoo publie son premier tome de « L’Alternative » chez Glénat et travaillera par la suite sur un collectif pour Zéphyr. Enfin, il réalise également les séries « Black Force Squadron » et « Styx ».
